The Mastercraft 3 x 1/16” Metal Cut-Off Discs 5-Pack can provide you with durable cutting discs that offer an ideal choice for sawing through thin metal. Five cutting wheels are included in this simple set, each of which features a ⅜" bore that allows them to be mounted onto a wide variety of tools. The Mastercraft cutting wheels/discs in this set can reach a maximum rotational speed of up to 25000 RPM, and are specialized for cutting through thin sheets of metal.

Mastercraft Cutting Wheel/Disc, 1/16 x 3-in, 5-pc

I bought these discs for the angle grinder attachment of my spin saw kit #54-8205-8 that I bought a few years ago. Since CTC did not stock a direct replacement for the original discs, I bought these and drilled the mounting hole out to fit the spin saw. They should work okay, although they are a little smaller than the original ones supplied in the kit. Lately, in my experience, this seems to be a problem with tools from CTC. They are good while they last, but there does not seem to be any ongoing support for the product. It would be nice if parts, especially ones that are known to wear, would be designed to some sort of standard so that worn out parts could be easily sourced.

Q: What is the part number for the shaft I would need to attach it to a die grinder, or is there a kit with one included?

A: We are not able to provide the requested part information since we do not know what die grinder you are operating. It is recommended to check with the manufacturer, whether or not it is safe to use a cut off disc on a die grinder. Since there is no guard and the disc is too thin, it is easy to shatter and potentially cause damage. It is not recommended.
