Q: I have a patio umbrella with a -1/2” pole that threads into itself. I accidentally cross threaded it when putting it together and the threading is now firmly stuck together. Would this type of wrench be what I need to get it apart?

A: A pipe wrench such as this should work. I suggest two things, pipe wrench could mark up your pole so put some material between jaws of wrench and the pole. Secondly it may work better if you use two wrenches, one in the pole and one to hold onto the base. Hope that helps!

Q: Why doesn't the handle of this wrench have a comfortable grip? I would think that a metal tool that the user has to use a fair amount of force/torque to undo a nut should have some kind of ergonomic comfortable grip instead of the cold hard metal.

Q: What size of pipe can I grasp with the 8" Wrench. Other questions here seem to be asking the same, but there is no way the 'max jaw width' is one inch. I need to replace the cartridge on a bathtub faucet, will this work?
