Q: Can the Mastercraft Digital Temperature reader take measurements of people temperature
4 years agoA: yes BUT read the manual for a similar unit. distance away from target / area coverage. units like this have a Dangerous lazer pointer. neet for a cat toy but very bad for EYEs Jul 2020 — Many hand-held lasers are now prohibited: With some exceptions, it is illegal to possess hand-held lasers over 1 milliwatt (mW) in public areas. my old digiTemp scanner was used carefully near children and Cats. (me= metallurgical lab. tec since 1985)

Q: Questions have been raised on whether this can read body temperatures to determine fevers. The answers have been no. WHY can it not read body temperatures?
3 years agoA: The margin of error on the unit is plus or minus 3 degrees. Normal body temp to fever is a difference of only 5 or6 degrees

4 years agoA: Accuracy at ambient ±3ºC (-30 – 0ºC/±6ºF (-22 – 32ºF)，±2ºC or 2% (0 – 100ºC)/±4ºF or 2% (32 – 212ºF), ±3ºC or 3%/±6ºF or 3% for other range

14 years agoA: For the current 2021 model shown in the picture: Hold MODE button down, press down arrow C/F. That toggles between Celsius and Freedom Units.

Q: What is the correct distance to use the temperature reader? What is the maximum distance to use to get an accurate reading?
16 years agoA: The closer the temp gun is to the surface that you want to measure, the more accurate it will be. See the answers to distant to spot ratios.
