Mastercraft Automatic Laundry Tub Pump, 1/3-HP

I need to speak up. This pump has worked well for many years. If people are having trouble I suspect they haven't restricted the discharge. If you leave the valve fully open the motor will cycle too frequently, This will destroy the electric motor

The pump died after 2 years of installation. Very disappointing

First off, the pump does not come as pictured - the check valve is different and there is no flow rate valve. I assume they have updated the item, but not the online picture. The instructions are incomplete. There is a diagram of how it is to be installed, but no mention or pictures of extra parts that will be required to complete the installation. I’m quite handy and can figure it out, but there is no excuse for how poorly the instruction manual was done.

The pump is pretty good. Reasonably quiet and quick draining. Has solved my problem with how to install a laundry tub where drain pipes above ground. Lots of issues though: (1) Was a real pain to install in a 30" wide cabinet which required a more drastic turn to the drain line. Make sure you have lots of space to install parts PLUS add a flexible ABS pipe clamp to ensure you can uninstall without cutting for maintenance later. (2) Slight water leak between the check valve and ball valve - not a huge issue but have tried multiple installations with and without teflon tape to no avail. The position of the ball and check valve don't look anything like the images to secure a tight fit so perhaps parts are out-of-spec? (2) The check valve doesn't work. Water slowly leaks back into the tub causing the pump to cycle every couple of minutes. That's a deal breaker. This pump is manufactured by Burcam who make quality products so will be calling them up for installation support (their support is awesome) if I can't resolve with a new replacement pump and fittings from CTC.
