Lemon?

This thing did not work right from the start. Motor starts bogging down around 30 psi, then the reset switch cuts it out to keep it from overheating.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Product seems fine. I bought while on sale, what the sale didn't say is that it was the floor model. Once installed will check in again.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Didn't Last Long

Purchased this compressor for intermittent use. On day 367, it began to make a terrible noise. Went to check it out to find the key from the flywheel shaft mangled on the floor and the flywheel spinning on the compressor shaft. I shut it down and took off the guard to find the flywheel loose and the shaft all mangled. Waiting to see how Canadian Tire resolves my issue.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Q: What else is required to get power to this unit? IE. Mag.Switches?

1 Answer
  • A: For our MAXIMUM 60 gallon unit a magnetic starter is not needed but would be good for the unit if you wanted to use one. The mag starter is not needed because the motor comes with a thermal switch built in so the motor will shut down on its own if it gets too hot and the pressure switch is rated as a 25Amp switch so it can handle the switching on/off . As stated in our manual, all that is needed is dedicated 240V service with either a breaker or electrical disconnect that can be used to cut power to the unit if needed. Please make sure you are also using the appropriately size wire and meeting all local electrical codes.
