Good Price-Quality When on Sale

I bought the cabinet on sale as a kitchen counter for our off-grid cabin and very happy with it so far: Pros: Good price-quality. Good installation instructions taking a few hours for one person. Looking very nice and functional. Very well packaged even if on the excessive side. Cons: The instructions do not include a tools list so I had to look at all the bolts. A small Alan Key is provided but you will also need a 13mm wrench, a star screwdriver and a power drill helps. Surprisingly high at 41” compared to a standard counter top at 36”; so the large wheels could be smaller. The transport weight at 160 lbs in a single box need some planning; I had to split apart the content so not to exceed my roof rack carrying capacity; so the workbench should come packaged in a few boxes to ease transportation.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Issue locking

The cabinet is fine, however the top left small drawer does not lock. This drawer was designed to be on the right side so the bar can lock into it. So we have two right hand drawers.

Q: Can a bench vise be mounted to the wood top? If so, what would be best way to bolt it down?

  • A: You could using carriage bolts. I wouldn't. It is way too flimsy of a product to be useful with a vice on it. Actually, it's way too flimsy to every recommend buying it and using it for anything other than some rarely accessed storage.

Q: Can the wheels be removed ? What is the height without wheels?

  • A: The height without wheels is 34.5''. We don't recommend to remove the wheels because there are some screws on the bottom panel and it is not flat if removing the wheels to place on the ground.
