Awesome

İ wasn’t expecting to be so good. First one I exchanged because it wasn’t shooting after fifths day. Second one used for over 40 days none stop. I loved it how it worked. I nailed the whole house frame, walls and roof trusses. Only minor problems.

Questions

Q: The specs say it uses 100 m3/min. Should this be 100 ft3/min? I know of no compressor that will deliver 100 cubic meters per minute

  • A: I'm not sure which mathmatician they used to do conversions or how they came up with this number. In the manual it says it consumes 0.088 CF/cycle @ 90 psi. This equates to about 25 nails per minute with an air compressor producing 2.5 CFM @ 90 psi. So a compressor of this size should be more than adequate for the average amateur carpenter doing framing. My compressor is a Porter Cable producing 2.3 CFM @ 90 psi and it has been more than adequate for finishing in the basement and doing a fence.

Q: Does this nailer use TVA11 or TVA6 trigger valve? I have one that is leaking air out of the tip/outlet and need to repair it.  O-rings are a weird size, but full trigger valve assemblies are readily available for cheap, so I'd like to just order the part.

  • A: @paka - yeah, thank you. I should have been more specific. I did mean the full assembly.  TVA11 and TVA6 are the most common for nailers I think.  Turns out it's not either of those.  Still trying to figure it out actually, but the trigger valve assembly part number "may be" A08368, for anybody else who is looking.  I'll update once I know for sure.

Q: What compressor exactly do i need for this framing nailer? I almost bought a mastercraft used compressor but it says on the box not recommender for framing nailer. Will please help me understand more..

  • A: A small utility compressor is not big enough. You will need at least a 5 gallon compressor. The nailer uses to much air volume for a small compressor.

Q: Can this nailer be used to drive brad nails ?

  • A: No it is only a framing nailer. CT does have a great brad nailer, and a roofing nailer. All great guns especially when bought on sale.
