Probably good for light duty

Bought bender for bending brake lines. Stop on bender will not allow for short compound bends so ended up bend by hand. Returned bender to store.

bends, but also kinks line

I purchased this product to create bends for a 3/8" copper coil. I did some test bend on some scrap of the coil. On each occasion at the 45deg mark it kinked the line by the time I got the line to 90deg. Only thing that could be wrong (as noted in the troubleshooting) is that the lining of the copper wall was to thin. Heck all coiled copper has the same lining thickness. No where on the package or the instructions did it note what the min lining thickness should be for the tube.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Holds up against the best.

I picked up a cheaper model of tube bender by another company recently, and promptly returned it in favor of this one. After making just one bend I was quite impressed. It bent the pipe so smoothly and easily I was kicking myself for not just buying this in the first place. Compared to some of the more expensive mechanic tools available from other suppliers, this one does the job just as well, is very sturdily built and quite easy to operate. It's a bit tricky to figure out which way to place the pipe in the bender, but once you've figured that out, you're set. For the price you won't find a better product.

Q: Will this bend fuel oil tank line? Can this bend loops into 3/8" fuel oil line without destroying the PVC leak shield?

A: The vendor suggests not to do this with this product - the deformation coefficients of these two are different, simply using the bender will cause PVC leak shield breaking.
