Like most all other reviews "STUCK BIT"
I bought this a few years ago and only got to use it once. The bit is stuck. I threw it in the corner after I could not get the bit out. I just discovered it again this week. It's been sitting a few years and thought I would try YouTube to find a solution. I read one user drilled it out. Now that I have a drill press, I might give that a try. I own a lot of Mastercraft tools, but this one really let me down, and from reading all the other reviews, I'm not the only one.
No, I do not recommend this product.

Works every change over - but the hex.....

adapter blew apart the first time I tried to remove it after using it the first time. That was disappointing, but I take and put on lug nuts ever 6 months with no problems. If the lug is stubborn, hit it with some penetrating spray (probably carried at your local Canadian Tire) wait for a bit, then push hard and stabilize the tool. Should work it off eventually.

For driving stubborn screws
I read all of the reviews prior to buying this so I knew what I was getting into, however I bought this for the purpose of driving stubborn screws and not for turning lug nuts. This thing drives screws like its going out of style. It doesnt matter how stubborn the screw this bad boy pounds it in or sucks it out. My version of this tool is an older one but the specs are the same, and I got it on one of those too good to be true sales that Canadian Tire always has. Great tool if you buy it for the right purpose.
Yes, I recommend this product.

Gently,Gently

It appears most people want an impact tool to really tighten stuff, but a much more valid use of a light duty impact tool is to loosen nuts, bolts, screws, etc by "teasing" them loose, out, off, whatever. Those little rusted on nuts on a manifold heat shield that you're afraid to put a wrench on, will zip right off with this. Someone must be using all those cordless units, they have about the same power. USE IT AS A REMOVAL TOOL then it's perfect
Yes, I recommend this product.

Great for light work
This impact driver is great for doing light work. It is not for heavy duty jobs. I have used it a number of times to remove small bolts and the impact action works well. If you are planning to used it to rotate tires, look at the heavier duty 7.5 or 8 amp version.

Q: Wheel nut tightening
Does this drill tighten the nuts completely or do they need to be finished off by hand tightening? Also wondered if the nuts/thread can be damaged using this drill if too much torque is applied?

A: The manual states that this impact driver should never be used to torque/loosen automotive nuts. It is for construction use only.

Q: What product is better?
54-2735-2 Impact drill? or 542951-6 Hammer drill? What has the most torque? What does bpm and spm mean?

2 Answers
A: The impact driver 54-2735 develops ~120ft/lbs of torque. A fair and valid comparison cannot be made with a hammer drill, as the intended use is quite different. The impact drill drives screws, nuts and bolts and is typically used with either a screwdriver bit, nut driver of socket. Its prime purpose is to provide high tightening force. The hammer drill is primarily for drilling into hard materials where the hammer function provides high speed repetitive hammering while drilling ideal for concrete.
bpm = bits per minute – spm = strokes per minute

Q: Adjust the Torque?
I'm not using this to change tires, but to do some reno around the house that needs a more powerfull drill.
Is it possible to adjust the torque on this drill? are their any other adjustable settings?
1 Answer
A: The only way to control the torque is with the variable speed trigger switch. Depressing the switch all the way down will give you 1400 In/lbs of torque. If you're not getting enough torque, you may want to consider upgrading to a 7.5A Impact Wrench that will give you 2880 In/Lbs of torque and the product number is 54-2734-4.
