The switch went in under 3 minutes

I bought this 5 years ago to use in my hobby when I retired. Used for 3 min and the switch stopped working. The quality of the parts ( switch) is disrespectful

Used it to etch a couple of Phillips screws that had the heads stripped out on my old motorcycle.
It easily made a nice clean, deep cut in the head of the screw and I was able to use a slotted screwdriver to remove the offending screw. Replaced it with another screw and now I'm good to go!
Was a great deal at $39.99 (actually, I used some accumulated Canadian Tire points and got it for less than $30.00...taxes in)!

Chuck assembly is AWFUL - keep your receipt

I've had this unit for about a year but within that year I've only used it 4-5 times and just this last use the chuck assembly has broken and I cannot lock the collect to remove a bit - several other reviewers also had this problem dare I say DEFECT has a great 3 year warranty but I don't have my original proof of purchase.
No, I do not recommend this product.

je me suis procuré cet outil pour mes projets de bricolage et j'en suis très satisfait. Certain des accessoires peuvent se déteriorer rapidement lorsqu' utilisé sur des matériaux très dense cependant les pièces de rechange sont facilement accessible et régulièrement offerte en spécial. Donc un bon achat.

J'utilise souvent cet outil rotatif pour faire divers travaux. L'outil est de bonne qualité (il n'a pas brisé) et il ne manque pas de puissance. Cepandant, je trouve que les accesoires manquent un peu de durabilité. Vaut la peine de l'acheter s'il est en spécial.

A: Sorry, I misread your question. The tool is 3 years. And, oddly enough, the carrying case is only 2 years. The warranty excludes commercial / industrial usage. I'd assume that the various cutting and sanding pieces are not covered for nearly as long (but I can't determine that information from my manual).

Q: How to attach the cutting disks? I am a new user of this product and cannot seem to find an accessory that allows you to attach the cutting wheels. Does anyone have any suggestions??

A: You have a 1/8 in. arbor with a slot screw keeper and two tiny rubber washers (don't lose these washers, they prevent the disc from spinning). Just undo the screw, sandwich the disc between the two washers and tighten the screw--voila!

Q: How Strong is the locking pin? This is a self-answered question for the purpose of adding an important detail and bit of advice for others.

A: This will be my third unit, from 3 different manufacturers. The locking pin is a weak point in all of them, including brand name units. 3 tips: 1. Don't engage lock while shaft is still turning! 2. Hold the lock very firmly and listen for the "click" before attempting to loosen. 3. Don't over tighten the nut when installing bits.

Q: Using Dremel attachments and equivalent dremel model? I wanted to buy some Dremel add-ons (like the plunge router attachment & the planer, not just bits). Will they fit and work with this MC tool? I'm also wondering if this is a rebranded Dremel. Knowing which Dremel model# would sure help!

Q: Does it come with a drywall pluinge bit? I see that there is a router attachment which I think I could use on drywall, does it come with a bit for cutting out electrical boxes cleanly?
