Have had no problems with mine

I have seen other people's reviews and I have had no problems with the battery in my unit. I got it on sale so it was quite a good deal. Even after sitting for months the battery would work when I brought it out. When I have used the cut off blades it was done a neat job on bolts, wood and drywall. With a steady hand it can do a fairly neat job. For specific tasks it will do the job better than a rotary tool. I do not use this tool very often but when I have brought it out it has performed well. Too bad that other people have had battery issues as the portable cordless option makes this a very convenient option. I understand why others have given it a bad review but my experience has been positive. Mine is over 3 years old now.

    Yes, I recommend this product.

Q: has the battery been improved, as per the one star review

    • A: The battery seems to last 15 minutes at full power, then dies. It takes 30 minutes to recharge. It works fine for the DIY person. For longer use I'd get a 2nd battery. I've used it for 1 week. I've cut door trim to install a floating floor and the ends of metal wire shelving. I've recharged it about 6 times. They also have a corded version for less $. I prefer the cordless as the cord is a hassle. I bought mine on sale for $60. So far so good.

Q: is there a blade for cutting stucco, rebar? Mastercraft 12V Lithium-Ion Multi-Crafter Set Product #54-1292-0 See more Rotary Tool Kits or compare

    • A: They have a metal blade, but for rebar I think your better off using a grinder. It cuts metal okay, but I think it would take too long for 1/2" rebar. The corded version might give you more power though.

Q: No LED indication on the battery charger while charging. Is it a problem? When I plugged the battery into the charger, to recharge after use the green and red LEDs lit once and then nothing. No light indications at all.

    1 Answer
    • A: The green light should be flashing during charging. This unit has a 3 year exchange warranty against manufacturing defects. To return it for warranty exchange, bring it to any Canadian Tire store within the warranty period, with your receipt. Warranty exchanges without the original receipt will be offered at the Canadian Tire store’s discretion.

Q: How does one attach other master-craft dremmel attachments? I have some master-craft dremel bits and am wondering what I need to attach them to this multi craft tool? Not sure if I have what is need with the kit.

    1 Answer
    • A: Check that the application tools are correctly attached. Use only the original Mastercraft® accessories and the other approved accessories (Fein® and Rockwell Sonicrafter® accessories) without adaptor. Incorrect or insecurely fastened application tools can come loose during operation and cause a hazard. 1. Remove the battery pack from the Multi-Crafter. 2. Loosen the flange bolt with the hex key provided (fig 5). 3. Ensure that the inner threads and the drive shaft are clean. 4. Align the grooves on the application tool with the four raised ribs on the drive shaft; put the application tool onto the drive shaft. 5. With your gloved hand holding the blade, put on the flange bolt and tighten it with the hex key. The flange is used as an adaptor to permit DREMEL® brand oscillating tool accessories to be mounted on the Multi-Crafter. 1. Remove the battery pack from the Multi-Crafter. 2. Loosen the flange bolt with the hex key supplied, and remove the flange and bolt. 3. Put the selected snap-fit accessory onto the outer flange, making sure that the accessory engages all 12 pins in the outer flange and the accessory is flush against the outer flange, and then put the accessory/outer flange assembly onto the inner flange. 4. Align the grooves on the inner flange with the four raised ribs on the drive shaft; put the inner flange onto the drive shaft. Make sure that the line on the side of the inner flange aligns with the line on the side of the drive shaft (fig 9). 5. With your gloved hand holding the accessory, attach and tighten the clamping bolt with the hex key.
