Straight edge guide aligns router along edges of workpiece or up to 7-7/8 inch (20 cm) from edge

Soft start for smooth start-ups
Plunge routing functionality is great for mortising, stopped dados, inlay pattern work and template routing with a depth capacity of 2 inch (50.8 mm) and fine adjustments as small as 1/256 inch (0.09 mm)

The router is OK. I was kinda hoping it would feel a little more sturdy and powerful, but it gets the job done. It has a black plastic cap on one side without which it won’t stay on, that just loosened and popped and got ejected in the middle of the project while I was working and I had to spend a couple hours moving things around the shop until I could finally find it. It’s an Ok router. Not on the same level than a Dewalt or a Makita, though

Q: Are the motor rating numbers correct? My calculation suggest that a single phase motor drawing 11 amps at 120 volts (even if it could somehow have an efficiency of 100% conversion of electrical to shaft power) would have a power output of 1.77 HP.

A: Hello T, thank you for your attention. 11A means the rated ampere. When facing the heavy duty work, the current can rise over 11A and the motor can provide a max power of 2HP.

Q: Are the plunge base and handles removable?

A: You'd have to take the router apart if you want to get to the screws that hold the handles in place. I didn't have to remove them cause the router fits perfectly on my router table.

A: i just got my set of ,i think its ten bushings for $40-$50 bucks on amazon . they are porter cable and they all fit perfectly.

A: Hello, we regret to inform you that plunge base is not sold separately. It is incompatible with routers coming from other brands but Mastercraft 9.5A Fixed-base router could fit well with this plunge base.
