The Mastercraft 1-HP Submersible Electric Sump Pump is designed to offer powerful performance for your high-capacity pumping needs. This pump is perfect for draining water from basements and sump pits. Portable and easy to handle, this sump pump includes a 10-ft (3m) power cord. Installation may require additional accessories such as a check valve, rigid pipe, and basic tools (sold separately).
Built from a durable mix of stainless steel and cast iron, making it ideal for high-capacity pumping
The permanent split-capacitator motor has a lower amperage, keeping the motor cool while increasing the pump's life
Can be used in effluent application

Carrying handle for easy portability

The tethered float switch includes a built-in piggyback plug and allows for the ability to bypass the float without removing the pump from the pit
The stainless-steel drive shaft and fasteners prevent corrosion and breakage
Built-in thermal overload protection prevents the motor from overheating by switching off the pump before damage is caused
A removable intake screen filters out large debris, preventing the pump from clogging
The stainless-steel vortex impeller resists clogs and handles solids up to 1/2” (1.3cm) in diameter

More horsepower is better!

My house is built on an aquifer. Lucky me. I have two sumps inside my house, and one outside. They go year round; winter included. I will never buy anything less than one horsepower. Solidly made. Each time an old pump dies, I now replace it with one of these. Tape your receipt to the box and keep it to keep track of how long the pumps last. Three year warranty.

Q: On page 5 of the user manual it mentions the tether length is adjustable but doesn't say how it can be done. Does anyone know how to do this? I need to lower the "switch on" level so the water level remains below the inlet pipe.

A: I believe you would loosen the cord attached to the float and slide it back a little so that it’s shorter making the pump engage sooner. Hope this helps.

A: The cord is about 3 metres. Out of the box it will not fit a garden hose, but I’m sure you could easily find a hose adapter for it on the shelf at Canadian Tire. I use it for a sewage pump to a septic field. Works good.

Q: Can this pump be used to empty a hot tub? If so how long will it take? Also what connector adapter do I get to connect to my garden hose? Or will that not be neccessary ? What is the length of the hose it come with to drain the water ?

A: Hi there, I will address each question ratther than clumping them together. Yes you can use this to drain your hot tub or pool. It does not come with any hose. How long it will take will depend on the amount of water in there and how far you need to push the water. We DO not recommend you use this pump with a garden hose. This will cause a great deal of back pressure in the pump and can cause overheating and other issues with this pump. We would recommend you purchase a sump pump discharge hose that is 1-1/2" inside diameter. These can be bought at Canadian tire along with the pump and should come with the correct (1-1/2" male NPT ) adapter to connect to the hose. Using this hose, assuming the lift and length are standard, this pump wil discharge water at the rate of 75 gallons (289 Liters ) per minute.

A: This pump can be used in a concrete sump basin but not for sewage waste which is found in a concrete septic pit. This pump is designed to move grey water but not solid waste that is found in a septic pit

Q: What is the maximum lift for this pump? What is the drawdown?

A: The max lift is approximately 40’ or 12.2m. The pump will draw down to about 3” as it sits on an elevated base for effluent use.
