- 7.6 amps. is needed when running at full load the 1/3HP Mastercraft pump. When the pump start, add 3-4 amps at that specific time. My pump is plug on a 15A. breaker (Not dedicate to the pump, not recommended). No problem at all. - The owner manual doesn't say about how many ampers. is needed when the pump start. It's in the Burcam pump owner manual that I have found a chart on the extra amps needed when the pump start depending the HP your pump have (1/10, 1/3, 1/2, 3/4 HP). - It's that chart that have help me in my purchase of that Mastercraft pump. 1/3Hp whatever the company remain a 1/3HP. (Mastercraft pump need 7.6A to operate and the Burcam pump need 8.4Amps to run, and 12Amps. at starting time only )

Q: I as an anti-airlock hole required to be drilled, even though this is a top suction design ?

1 Answer
  • A: Hi Jason, Thank you for your question! You don't need to drill an anti-airlock hole. Starting and stopping the pump several times can solve the pump when it may be air locked.

Q: Can the vertical float switch have a way to adjust the height when the float switch turns on the pump? I would like to lower

1 Answer
  • A: It's not recommended that you adjust this yourself. The switch could lose its intended function if adjusted improperly.

Q: Can the pump be coupled down to garden hose without damage to pump

1 Answer
  • A: Assuming the pump is coupled down to garden hose as a utility pump application. This is not a typical usage. Also normally the garden hose diameter (mostly is 3/4”) is smaller than the pump discharge ( 1-1/4” or 1 1/2”), so it will affect the flow rate. As a sump pump, it is not designed for continuously running. Using it as a utility pump will shorten the pump life. So we don’t recommend this application.

Q: lwould this be good for 10 inch depth and 10 inch width basin ?

1 Answer
  • A: Our pump fits in 10’’ basin diameter but needs a minimum of 12’’ depth basin. The stoppers of the vertical float needs to be adjust accordingly. However, local plumbing code will applies and you need to review and follow your local code.

Q: Which pump is the right one? The two views show two completely different pumps. Is the float guide arm an optional thing?

1 Answer
  • A: We are doing a running change on these pumps. Both images are correct however, the pump with the matte finish is the newer version. The glossy one is the older version so depending on which store you go to you might see one or both on the shelf.
