Connectors? Instructions? Could be better constructed.

It is a pump and it works. It would have been very helpful if the waterproof electrical connectors had been included along with a set of English instructions. I suspect this item was a return and nobody checked to make sure everything was still in the box. The box was sealed so I don't think it had been robbed of included accessories but that is a possibility. The construction seems rather cheap for the price but I needed a pump and this is what they had. Hopefully it will last for a while.

Q: Please confirm the motor voltage, normally a 2 wire plus ground is suitable for 110 v. 240 v requires 3 wires plus ground.

    • A: You're thinking of two wires of one side of the split-phase (one pole), thus a single hot and a neutral (ground), plus a bare "equipment" ground. With 240V, you're using both sides of the split-phase (full phase), so instead of a neutral (0V / ground), you're using the opposing 120V side. In other words, you have the opposing pole instead of a ground/neutral/0V, thus -120V + +120V = 240V total potential difference... two wires! Three wire (or four if you include the bare equipment ground), is for equipment that needs both 120V AND 240V (stoves, dryers, etc.). This equipment uses one of hte 120V phases and the neutral for 120V stuff, like lights, timers, etc., and it uses the two 120V poles for the 240V stuff like burners, dryer heater, etc.

Q: My well is 65 ft deep what kind of pressure can I expect

    1 Answer
    • A: It depends on how many gallon per minute the pump is delivering, I have attached the chart below: At 60 feet and delivering 16 Gallon per minute you get about 20 PSI, at 11 gallons per minute you get about 50 PSI. More GPM = less PSI and vice versa, the chart below talks about 60 feet and 80 feet, unfortunately 65 feet is not listed.

Q: What control box does Canadian Tire sell that is compatible with this pump? I'm wanting to use this pump in my well which feeds my underground automatic sprinkler system. This is a new install so I need a control box for the pump. I can't seem to find a control box on the Canadian Tire Website

    1 Answer
    • A: The pump in question (062-3532) is a two wire pump (2 wires plus ground). The starting controls are located in the motor. This unit does not require a control box. In a three wire system (062-3540) a control box with start capacitor is required and is included in carton with the pump.

Q: is the wire attached and included , any kind of suspension system ?

    1 Answer
    • A: The pump has a 3 to 4 feet wire leads to which you need to splice your own submersible electric cables. A ¼ inch nylon cord is required to hold the pump and is not included.

Q: How can this pump lift water 150ft if it only puts out 30psi? For a pump to lift water from 150ft it has to have an output of no less than 65psi.

    1 Answer
    • A: 10 gpm at 30 psi at maximum vertical pumping depth of 150 ft (45.7m)’ means that when the pump is 150 feet down in the well, it will provide 10 gallons per minute at a pressure of 30PSI at ground level. This is what you will experience at the top of the well when their pump is 150’ in the well. It does not mean that the pump is using 30 PSI of pressure to lift the water 150’. These are two very different scenarios.
