Product Details

The Mastercraft 1/2-HP Shallow Well Electric Jet Pump is a dependable solution for managing well water in rural homes, farms, and cottages. This pump is powered by a 1/2 HP motor and the pre-charged horizontal tank provides immediate access to fresh water. The pump is designed to integrate seamlessly into your water system. Installation may require additional components, including a foot valve, PVC elbows, pipes, and well seals (sold separately).

  • Cast-iron construction provides lasting durability

  • Built-in thermal overload protection prevents the motor from overheating by switching off the pump before damage is caused

  • Dedicated priming port for volute filling

  • The pre-set pressure switch has an automatic shut-off feature, turning on the pump at 30 PSI and turning it off at 50 PSI

  • 1-1/4” NPT suction and 1” NPT discharge

  • Tank capacity: 6 gallon (22L)

  • Maximum Flow Rate: 790 GPH = 50L/m = 2990L/h

  • Maximum head height: 147' (44.8m)

  • The permanent split-capacitator motor has a lower amperage, keeping the motor cool while increasing the pump's life

Cracked pipe firting

Had this pump for one year and there is a crack in the hose at the elbow and I am searching everywhere I could think of the fines hose can’t find it and my phone about my warranty ask for a replacement hose. They don’t sell the warranty parts like that or have the parts they ask me to send the whole pump in for replacement I will not be doing that don’t waste your money on this product.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Beware brittle connections

Just installed and so far so good but just a warning they used a brittle thread sealer at the factory for all the pre assembled parts. Be careful when tightening your connections to not put too much pressure on the pre assembled threads because you'll crack the sealant and it'll leak. And it's a pain to unthread and clean out those connections. Also use pipe thread dope instead of Teflon tape

Q: Hi. Mine is running great but is cutting off at 34psi. Do I take the end off and fill it to 50 psi ? I am a little unclear on where to check the pressure myself and fill it if needed. The instructions don't appear to have anything. Anyhones help would

Q: I purchased this pump and it has performed very well. The one thing I did not investigate is the ability to drain the pump and prepare it for winter freezing. Is there a port to drain the water

Q: Does this system have either a check valve or a relief valve built into it? It doesn't say anywhere in the manual that there is one, nor whether one should be installed. The manual seems really limited...

  • A: No check valve included as there are many options on what you can put on the end. This is a pump and tank. Any extra plumbing is for you to figure out. The manual is clear and concise to the functionality and operation of the unit but does not offer a course in plumbing.

Q: how to winterize the pump for below freezing temperatures in the winter?

  • A: well, you can't. You disconnect it and bring it indoors for the winter. If you want to use it during winter months, then you are going to have to insulate and heat it to prevent freezing like any other water pipe.

Q: Is it okay to leave the pump pressurized for long periods? (1-3 weeks)? I installed this at our cottage. We go there every few weeks. Before leaving I always disconnect the power, but should I also depressurize the tank if we're gone for many days?

  • A: I had a pump just like that it lasted six months and fell apart they are not worth the money they ask for them they are junk no other parts will adapt to them just not fit to own
