Designed for temporary installation, this electric utility pump is ideal for removing water from basins, tanks, flooded floors, window wells, basements and large flooded areas. Powered by a long-lasting, oil-cooled 1/2 HP motor, this submersible water pump features auto switch-off protection to prevent overheating and a thermoplastic housing to prevent rust and corrosion.

Submersible pump 1/2hp

Bought to empty 6 person hot tub. Took over 2 hours. A lot longer than the capability indicates. Because it’s water cooled, not sure it gets cool when water in the hot tub is not cool. There is a tiny hole in the top of the base for circulating the “cooling” water inside the unit, which, when the water level in the hot tub gets below it, it shoots water up the side of the hot tub and defeats the purpose of getting most of the water out. It leaves about 2 inches to be hand bailed. If my basement was flooded, this would be no good. It does run very quietly. It’s a simple unit. Attach your hose (2 sizes), drop it in water and plug it in. Power cord is about 10ft long.

The pump worked good. The problem was the hose connection. There was only one type of connection and it was not fitting my water hose. I had to buy another connection. There should have been various types of hose connections.

A: I have pumped out a 10 foot deep, 32 feet round pond and 75 feet horizontally with no trouble. I've had this pump for 2 years and mis-used it in mud and gravel, yet it is still going strong. I don't recommend that treatment, but it is my experience. I like the larger intake slots, too. Great Pump!

Q: we have this pump but the flow rate has dropped considerable since first used... we have noticed that water sprays out of a little square projection just behind the hose connection... is this normal?

A: No , it's not normal. Remove the outlet hose, 2inch connector. Check bottom of pump ensure that it is free of any obstructions. Pump should operate with no load. If this works then outlet hose maybe blocked, good luck.

A: Hi there, At 6' of lift, through 1-1/2" pipe the pump will do 170 liters per minute. Through a 3/4" garden hose, about 1/2 of that. Thanks
