Efficiently manage well water with the Mastercraft Convertible Jet Pump, 1/2-HP, designed for permanent installation in rural homes, farms, and cottages. This pump is powered by a 1/2-HP motor, ensuring a reliable water supply. This jet pump offers superior durability, corrosion resistance, and effective heat dissipation for long-lasting performance. Tools such as an adjustable pipe wrench, screwdriver, and hacksaw may also be needed.
Maximum flow rate: 492 GPH (1,862 L/h)
Suitable for wells up to 70 feet (21.3 m) deep
Remove the bolt ejector to convert this pump from a shallow well pump to a deep well pump
The pre-set pressure switch has an automatic shut-off feature, turning on the pump at 30 PSI and turning it off at 50 PSI
Built-in pressure gauge for easy pressure monitoring
Cast-iron construction
Built-in thermal overload protection prevents the motor from overheating by switching off the pump before damage is caused
Maximum head height: 70' (21.3m)
Installation requires additional components such as tape, a rigid pipe, cement, a foot valve, a check valve, PVC glue, and a diaphragm/pressure tank (all sold separately)

Didn't work right out of the box

Returning it today. Motor ran intermittently, overheated and stopped within 30 seconds. Helpline was quick to speak with me, but had no options other than returning.

Total Garbage

Bought my first one in February 2025, it lasted till July 2025 before it started leaking and losing pressure. I exchanged through warranty. The new pump worked until today when it decided to stop working. It has the proper voltage however it just doesn’t do anything. Screen shot of my other attempt to review this product today. Don’t buy this.

Under powered

It says it can pull from 70’ but I was down only 50’ and it is not strong enough. I purchased a different brand of pump had it working in 20 minutes. This pump is just not good enough for a well.

Installing jet pump

easy to install had to change over to 110 versus 230. It was a switch inside the cover very easy to do.

A: Yes there is a warranty on certain things but mine broke just outside the warranty and nobody, even authorized dealers have parts. I would not buy this pump, Mastercraft is not the reliable company it once was.

Q: The Instruction Manual says "suction pipe size should not be less than 1 1/4 inch". My suction pipe size is about 3/4 inch. Seems to be working ok so far. How would a smaller size suction pipe affect the pump?

Q: Does this motor have a built in check value? I installed and primed the pump of a new motor but it's not sucking water. I could try adding a check value, just in case there is a foot value that failed in the dug well.

A: This pump does not have a built in check valve. Failure for the pump to prime can be caused by a number of factors. Please first check the foot valve and check valve to be sure they’re in working order. Ensure that enough water is used to prime the pump (it often takes more water than customers are expecting to fully fill the pipe). The customer will also need to check to be sure there aren’t any air leaks throughout the piping joints. Could you also advise depth to water? It’s possible the depth to water is more than the pump is capable of pumping. It’s also possible that the pipe is not far enough down to reach the water or that it’s too deep and embedded in mud or dirt.

A: Hard to say without knowing the installation and use, but generally speaking you would be increasing power so you should see improved performance.
