Mastercraft 1/2 Cabinet Kit

I bought this cabinet to hold my detailing supplies, the first one I got was missing many parts so I exchanged it for another one assuming it might have been opened. The exchanged one was missing all of the same parts as well. On top of that the parts I tried to assembled were quite terrible and not sturdy. Definitely not a product which follows Mastercraft's usual standard; disappointing on it's promises.

I am overall pleased with the quality and sturdiness of this cabinet, but there are a few items where it can be improved upon. Getting each rivet to fully seat in its slot can be difficult, some just don't go all the way in. Also, better packaging would be helpful to keep the side panels from bending out of shape. These are thin gauge metal panels and easily deformable. I could have anticipated, due to the damaged box, that there might be some damaged pieces as well, and when I opened the box at home one of the panels was bent out of shape where the rivets are along the top edge. I was able to bend these back into proper position using a pliers, a hammer and a wood block, so it wasn't that much of a negative factor. But if packaged with some additional cardboard fillers this could likely have been avoided. Also, as someone else mentions, the pins for the doors are just a tad too short to engage into the holes in the door/frame and solidly hold the door in place. I had to use some washers at both ends to ensure that the door is held in place, rather than trying to source longer pins. I like the fact that no special tools are required. The instructions are not too clear, but it's easy to see how the pieces fit together. Also note that you will definitely need the assistance of a helper the fit the top section onto the bottom section.

I bought 2 of these and the good thing is that they are very sturdy and built well. The bad, throw the instructions away because they are the worst I've seen to date, not clear and very poorly illustrated and they don't make sense. It took 2.5 hrs to assemble the first one and 1 hour for the second and I'm by far not a beginner when it comes to these kind of tasks.
