    Excellent utility pump

This pump is pretty decent and even comes with an extra impeller. You must use a foot valve when using this pump to prevent losing prime. Canadian tire sells one that fits a standard garden hose thread attachment for around $10. I honestly don't suggest using this pump without it. As for moving water, I think this thing does a pretty decent job. I have a water that has about 60 gallons of water and it pumped it out in what felt like 10 minutes. Once again, the trick here is to get that foot valve, fill the suction hose with water, then thread it to the pump. A few drops of vegetable oil in the impeller chamber also doesn't hurt.. Comes with spare motor brushes and an extra impeller. For spare parts (CT doesn't carry them), just contact Burcam as this is their pump and the model is 300308P. I like this pump as it is extremely easy to service. There are definitely wear components with this guy but at least it's easy to maintain.

Q: What is the maximum and minimum temperature of fluid that can be pumped by this unit? Can the unit pump water at a temperature of 98 deg C?

    • A: The model changed and the picture is wrong. I just purchased the Current version (suction plate is different in the current one) But the manual clearly says the continuous temperature is 33F to 104F (or, 1C to 40C)

Q: What is the size of the carbon brush? I have purchased this model several times but when the brush wears out, it stops working. This time I would like to get a replacement brush instead of buying a new pump. The user guide does not mention the size.

    • A: The brushes wear out after a lot of use. However, after asking the question, I discovered that there were replacement brushes in the box. (I did not recognize them for what they are as they are blocks of carbon attached to a spring where I was expecting something that looked like a brush). I replaced them and that got the water pumping again. When the brushes are worn, the motor runs but it does not draw any water.
