Size and handles great! But finish didn't last.

This wok was wonderful when we first got it. Loved the additional handle for easy lifting and the price didn't break the bank. However it didn't take long for the food to start sticking to the finish. Upon closer inspection, it looked as if the finish was flaking off but we weren't sure. We continued to use it to the point of it being impossible to clean. Once we set it aside, we could see the finish flaking off like dry paint! We are gentle with our pans so this finish obviously isn't as good as it could be. Loved the pan, extra handle and size though! They just need to improve the finish to be longer lasting.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Q: is this wok actually made of carbon steel (or is it a coated aluminium wok?) - mine just started peeling pretty badly and I'm wondering whether it's food safe anymore..?

A: I personally wouldn't risk using it. The finish keeps flaking off like dried paint so you wouldn't want that in your food regardless.

Q: Is it flat bottom or round bottom? Can it be used on flat top electric glass stove top? Also some say it needs to be seasoned yet one of your answers indicates it doesnt....which is it?

Q: This looks like a carbon steel wok that needs to be seasoned. It does not appear to have a teflon coating. Your previous answers say that the wok is not coated with chemicals. What is making it non stick then?
