A: the grates are durable - the warming grate is a typical thin wire unit that has a limited life, but the grates are wider metal which has lasted me 4 years to date

Q: What is the size of the main cooking area in square inches. Pretty sure the 680 sq inch includes the warming rack as well.

A: Yes, you can use a 085-2228-6 Master Chef Universal Rotisserie. On some Master Chef Prime 5-Burner models due to the side shelf design, you will have to shorten the counter balance while cooking.
