Questions

Q: The description is conflicting, Details / features indicate 6 cups, specifications show 5 cups?

  • A: it is espresso shots (not full cups). I think between 4-6 but you choose water levels to the air release.

Q: Its possible to use master chef expresso on electric stove.

3 Answers
  • A: It isn't a camping espresso maker or plug in. It is intended for electric stoves and infusion burners.

Q: We accidentally ran this through the dishwasher  despite the instructions stating not to. The finish is now much duller. Is it still safe to use?

3 Answers
  • A: Running aluminum through the dishwasher removes the anodized coating (protection) from the aluminium and will make it prone to pitting.  Although there are no counter indications to using aluminium pots, know that they do leach (very little but still...) in the water/coffee that you're consuming.  For future reference, espresso/mocha pots shouldn't even be cleaned with soap.  They should be rinsed under warm/hot water after use and left to dry, that's all.  Any soap used in there, even if thoroughly rinsed, will affect the flavor of the coffee.

  • A: It works best if you make a full batch.

Q: What kind of metal is it made from, i.e., aluminum or steel? Does it rust?

2 Answers
  • A: Appears to be aluminum, does not rust but I think with aluminum if you get an acid or alkaline cleaner on it, it will tarnish - turn dusty-grey. I have been happy with my unit - bought it a couple of years ago.
