Used it once and battery would not charge. Tried to change battery and this model has a fixed battery and cannot be changed. A piece of junk. Do not buy this GPS

save your money

it is only guaranteed for one year from date of purchase for defects. if the replacement is defective, it is not guaranteed. if you want online support or instruction you will never contact the company. there is no instruction booklet. any problem or glitch will not be resolved. online support advertisement is frought with scam. my replacement never shows the correct time and there is no procedure to correct it.

Be Aware of Canadian Tire "No Return for Unsatisfactory Performance" policy

When I tried to return RoadMate 5632 GPS to the same store after a week for unsatisfactory performance with the receipt and in original box I was told that it is not possible as there is no satisfaction guarantee policy and because I opened the box and turned on the device. Of course I did try the device for couple of days next to my old Maestro 3225 GPS and found that despite advertised Bells and Whistles it is inferior in voice synthesis, visibility of the map, doesn’t have compass, time, speed and satellite reception indicator at the same time on the screen like the old unit, after all updates is still not aware of most speed limits changes or red light cameras in Toronto etc. My old Maestro 3225 is back in my car, this RoadMate 5632 is now in my garage drawer and my trust in Canadian Tire is very shaken.

Be wary of Lifetime map feature

I have a older Magellan Roadmate unit with lifetime maps and it for the most part works well. Magellan unfortunately considers lifetime to be three years. After that you are out of luck getting up to date maps. If "lifetime" was a more realistic time (5 to 10 years) I would rate it higher.
