After 3 years and almost 900miles logged every thing about it is great except for water temperature it always says 75degress.

please do not make the same mistake that I made! the less expensive model does not have any sort of map at all! I wasn't being cheap, I was under the impression that the more expensive model had an upgraded map installed, and that the less expensive model would at least have a very basic map pre installed. now come to find out that I can't even purchase a map for it afterwards. unless I don't understand something. kind of bummed but... lesson learned.

Limited Use But Great So Far

It is exactly as represented, so it gets 5 stars. There are, however, a few issues the first of which is a 5" display is too small, but that is on me. It's not easy to remove a micro SD card. Brightness control via the power button can produce a quandary as to whether the brightness is turned down in bright sun or the unit is powered off. The beeps and alarms are so difficult to hear as to be worthless. Still a 5 star rating.

This review is for the Hook reveal 5 splitshot with Inland maps. I love this unit so far! I just used it to fish for jumbo perch on open water. My transducer is mounted on back of the boat, so I anchor and then drop my jig near the back of the boat. I can see the fish come in to inspect the lure, I would almost always catch a fish once I saw one on the screen. I really love the detail and I've been using pallette 13 split with downscan as recommended. from a few friends. Most recently, I used the unit to troll for walleye, it clearly marks suspended off the bottom and has made my fishing experience more enjoyable!

Q: What's the difference between the 5, 5x and the 5 with nav+? Also I'm assuming it comes with a transducer?

A: The 5 is the standard model, the 5x has no gps/nav feature which explains the lower price and the Nav+ comes with upgraded maps and charts.
