Definitely not a heavy duty item. Will shut down within 5 minutes if use on high. Have to wait for 10 minutes to cool down then go again.

Original kit was missing one connector on main power line. Exchange was quick and easy. Welding right away, as package stated, was a little misleading due to assembly requirements.

A: It is the exact same welder. ‘Welder Kit’ includes extra welding wire (2 sizes) hammer, gloves, magnet and I believe some extra tips.

A: I believe they are the same welder. Different item # because of the special buy and a few more bonus pieces.

A: No the welder in this kit is not equipped to run aluminum wire. You must purchase the Lincoln Electric Magnum 100SG Spool Gun (sku 58-6500) to run aluminum wire.

Q: I just purchased this welder and I put it on its own 20amp breaker with 12/2 wire from my panel running to a 20amp output plug,then I was going to use a 50 foot 10/3 wire extension cord,will this work,thanks.

A: The wiring would depend on the municipal building codes, but running a 10/3 extension cord on a dedicated line is not an issue. However, please note some 12/2 wires are OK for low amperage applications, and hence do not have a ground. For use with a 120V high amperage welder, an appropriate 3 wire ground is recommended. Again, we would recommend checking with local building codes and have a qualified electrician complete the installation. Lastly, we would strongly recommend upgrading to a dedicated ~30amp lag fuse, as the welder has a tendency to spike amperage loads when welding. This would reduce the tendency of resetting the fuse every time it is tripped.
