    Does the Job

    We have three, one on the pantry, one on the supply closet and one for the bathroom. Easy to install and keeps the kids out of those areas. We have had them up for over a year and they still work fine.

    We put it on our basement door handle. It's easy to install and fits right but if you maneuver the handle at all and it leans just the right way it opens. Disappointed to say the least. My toddler is 17 months and he finagles with everything. We'll have to get a new handle on top of the lost cash for this "safety lock" because I lost the receipt.

    I wanted to use this door lock to keep my son from getting into a closet where chemicals are stored and a second closet where we store board games. There is nothing I can think of that is great about them as they do not fit so they do not work. You can't use it on the handles we have because the part that is supposed to lock/block the handle from turning is too short so the handle passes right by it. Tried to use it on his bedroom door until we were able to purchase a gate but if you use it on our doors you could get locked inside the room so I took it off. Very disappointed with this product which is a surprise as I have purchased other safety 1st products and have been very pleased with them.

    Recently purchased these because we changed our door handles but it only took a few minutes until our daughter figured out that if you push the jiggle the handle enough the safety lock doesn't work. Disappointed as we purchased 4 and will have to figure out what else to use

    Installed on five doors in our home. The installation was simple and easy. We have lever style door handles on all doors. We have to boys both are under three. All doors can be opened by our sons. They don't work as advertised. Dont waste money on this product. We also tried the more expensive tape on style. My 19 month old pulled on the handle ripping the double sided tape. Had to use adhesive remover and a putty knife to get it off. Then light sanding of the door. Then repainted the door. We found better to get the chain locks so they can't get the door open. I don't think much engineering went in to this product. Might work if made out of different materials like metal. I would pay more for a product that worked. Don't buy this cheap junk.

    Q: Has anyone tried this or any other latch locks to prevent their dog from opening the door? My dog is highly intelligent obviously as he knows to swiftly jump at the door and put his paw on the handle. Anyone else have this issue. Send help lol

    • A: I have tested this on my 1 year 59 pound golden retriever. I locked her in the basement, and when I came home she was at the upstairs window. The dog hit the lever handle, as the sliding lock moves quite easily and forces the latch open.The door lock was broken when we returned home. Waste of money, trying the door guardian.

    Q: Can they be taken off and only put on when toddler is visiting and do they mark up the door

    • A: It comes on and off easily, it just gets sandwiched between the lever and the door. Just remove the lever and put the lock between the door and lever and re-attach the handle to the door. I recommend having a second pair of hands to help during installation.
