Les Stroud Fuerza Fixed Blade Hunter Knife

My wife purchased this knife for me as a Christmas gift along with a bunch of survival gear for a survival/emergency kit. It is a very attractive knife and the steel (440 stainless) behaves like very high quality 440 stainless. I'm not sure if it's 440C, but it strongly resembles the steel in one of my other favorite knives (my Ruko), which has 420A. The handle is made with olive wood which adds to the knifes appeal. The sheath is nicely crafted leather with attractive stitching. The knife came with a very nice factory edge. I was able to hone the blade to wicked sharp using a set of lansky sharpening stones with little effort. I think Les Stroud did a great job collaborating with Camillus on this knife. I have a moderate collection of quality knives and this one instantly became my favorite. I saw that the Les Stroud sport knife received several poor reviews because of the quality of the attachments. I think in a survival or emergency situation, all the inclusions that Les thought of would be a great help. I would recommend reading one of his survival books to get an idea of what leads to an emergency situation and how little things can make a huge difference. This is what prompted me to consider making an emergency kit for my truck. I hope you enjoy this knife as much as I have and will!!
