This heavy-duty cast iron anchor features a plow design to securely dig into the sea floor – ideal for sandy, muddy or grassy surfaces, and windy conditions. The durable anchor features a pivoting shank for easy retrieval and resetting and provides reliable mooring for medium-sized vessels.

Good Anchor

Needed a quick replacement for an anchor and was lucky to find Drew at the Midland Canadian Tire store a short while ago. He was helpful and courteous, and showed the various anchor types and carried the chosen anchor to the cash register and to my car as well. Thank you Drew for all your patience! The anchor was exactly what was needed and has since been in use quite successfully, a good size and weight for a 21ft aluminum boat.

Q: Will this 28lb Navy Anchor hold a 18ft Pontoon boat on a lake for fishing/swimming? Thanks

A: I have a 18ft fish and fish and ski boat. It easily holds my boat in rough waters. I absolutely went a bit overkill I think. Regardless, safer is better. Important part is to educate yourself on appropriate anchor rope length, angles, anchor chain as well. All these factors as well as environment (type of bottom) play into the calculation.

A: We have a 22 footer and holds is just fine. Remember, choosing an anchor has just as much to do about choosing the right type for the bottom you are dealing with as it does the size of anchor.
