    tough little mower with great battery life

    I've had this mower for 11 years for my 40' x 100' yard. it cuts even long grass and mulches well. it lakes a short time to charge and holds charge well. my only complaint is the bag is a bit small and needs to be emptied often, but I don't think a much bigger bag would fit. I see many complaining about the battery life. if you leave a lithium ion battery like this one in an unheated garage or shed it will dramatically shorten its life. my first battery lasted only 2 summers until I was given this info. My second just died after 10 years, and likely because I forgot it outside until after the freeze. I too am looking for a replacement now and can't find one anywhere. @canadiantire how can I order one online?

    I'm a happy owner of Yardworks 24V Cordless Lawn Mower, 14-in (https://www.canadiantire.ca/en/pdp/yardworks-24v-cordless-lawn-mower-14-in-0601753p.html). As with any battery-operated equipment, it's time for a battery replacement. I checked the Canadian Tire website and found the appropriate battery replacement. But it says it's out of stock! Can Canadian Tire order this? Seems like a lot of your customers are looking for this as well based on the comments below. Please CONTINUE to carry this battery replacement product (Lawn Mower Battery for 60-1753, 24V) at Canadian Tire stores across the GTA!

    Yardwork products are tooo bad! I follow the instruction the battery still dies within two years. One year warranty is too short!

    Q: I would love to get this battery to replace the one I have but CT no longer stocks it so where would I get one????

    • A: I purchased two batteries from www.BatterySpecialist.ca in Burlington Ontario, Universal Battery # UB12100-S, you need two of these 12 Volt batteries to make 24 Volts. You will need to be able to rewire a bit, because these new batteries need terminal clips, but they are otherwise identical to original. I purchased these because my original batteries conked out after 5 years and Canadian Tire no longer carries the original Yardworks battery. My new batteries have been going strong for 7 years now. Be sure to sharpen your mower blade and lubricate the motor bearings annually because these factors will reduce battery life.

    Q: How do you remove the battery from a 14 in 24 v mower.

    • A: Please see below for the procedure to replace the cells of the 60-1753 battery : 1.) Unscrew the 2 screws that hold the handle in place; there is 1 screw on each side 2.) Once the screws are off, pull apart the handle from the casing 3.) Flip over the battery so that it’s now upside-down 4.) Remove the 10 screws that are around the perimeter of the casing : 2 on the back, 2 on each side, and 4 on the front (they are all Philips head screws) 5.) Flip right side up 6.) Take off casing and take a picture of the wiring to remember where everything is placed 7.) Remove wires and replace the 2 old cells with 2 new cells and re-wire 8.) Re-screw in all 10 screws on the bottom perimeter and the 2 for the handle.
