    Short term answer

Our dog would go after bicyces so we decided to try this. Worked great with just the correction noise but the batteries die within a couple of days. He is an outdoor dog and in winter we're lucky if they last a day. Last week he was charged by another dog while he was on his leash and the clip snapped. I replaced the clip but it has now fallen apart completely and the batteries I put in 2 days ago are dead. I won't buy another but will look for a better product. For the cost of this, I don't think it's worth it.

No, I do not recommend this product.

    great training tool

We had a problem with my dog constantly running out the door and not coming back when she was called. It would take forever to catch her. A friend suggested this product, and at first I hated the idea of “shocking” my dog, but I eventually decided to try it. After I bought it I tried it on my hand up to the third level and it didn’t hurt, it was more annoying and uncomfortable for a split second. I put it on my dog and first time she run out I hit the button and she immediately stopped. We’ve had the collar for about a month and a half now and everyone’s noticed a huge improvement in the dog. She comes when she’s called, and doesn’t try to run out the door anymore. We very rarely need the collar anymore. All in all, it’s a great tool for training your dog. It also has a tone button that you can use as a warning before you use the correction button. The only down side would be the short battery life, but it’s completely worth it to keep your dog safe.

    Yes, I recommend this product.

    waste of money

We have a very active border collie who runs like crazy. We live on a very busy road and needed to keep her from running towards the road. We bought this collar and it worked well for the first few months. Now it shuts itself off constantly and uses a set of expensive batteries every few days. It's not a good feeling when your dog bolts towards the road with a tractor trailer roaring towards her and you don't know if you will be able to stop her or not. I emailed the manufacturer and received no response. We are going to invest in a better collar...the kind hunters use. If you love your dog you'll spend the extra money too. Don't waste your money on this.

No, I do not recommend this product.

    Questions

    Q: Is this collar waterproof

    4 Answers
    • A: No but when it got wet it didn't seem to affect its functioning. I didn't see any rust or other problems in the battery compartment. You could try putting a rubber gasket on the face of the battery compartment but it doesn't have anything "off the shelf".
