Great little tool to have

I was a little skeptical when I bought my first pocket hole jig from Kreg but it’s amazing. Easy to use and incorporate in to my woodworking. I picked this set up to expand what I had. I wanted two jigs so that I wouldn’t have to line up and measure two separate times.

Kreg Jig, enough said. Works great, of course, and the starter kit of screws is a big bonus. Got me going asap. Very easy to use and a few different configurations.

Questions

1 - 1 of 1 Question

Q: Are you limited to the to the 3 thickness sizes (1/2” 3/4” & 1 1/2”) of wood. Obviously if you plane down some rough cut you may not end up with 3 standard thicknesses

  • A: I'm no expert but I see no reason why you'd be limited to those thicknesses. That said, wood pieces that are considerably thicker, like 4 inches etc. would be subject to pulling apart from the opposite side of the screws unless pocket screws were installed on both sides.
