I bought this product because it explicitly said it will do an 8000 square foot area. My lawn is 5200 sq.ft. so I thought this to be more than adequate. I was wrong. The product was gone after only having done half my lawn. I didn’t think I spent too much time over the area but I also didn’t think I’d have to literally run around the lawn. The plus side though is that it does the job and the vegetation that it says it kills, it kills. I am however spending twice as much as I thought I needed to. Might look for another brand next time.

stuff works great.

was skeptical of this stuff working but worked really well. followed instructions to a t and sprayed my whole back and front lawn both were infested with weeds. by the next day they were already starting no wilt and die off. about a week or so after they were all drying up and getting overrun by grass. some places where the weeds were really bad i had to seed again but i am thoroughly impressed by this stuff would definitely consider buying again.

Q: Is there an ideal temperature to apply this product? Is it too hot at above 26 deg C? Can it be applied in the early morning on a hot day, even if there is dew on the lawn? Is it more effective if applied in the early evening?

A: I have found the hotter the day the better. The grass must be dry, so it is best applied in the morning after the dew is gone. Try to apply it on a dry hot day in the morning.

Q: Does this product work on buttercup weeds?

A: In the hundreds of times I have used this, I have found that it kills everything except grass. Obviously be careful around wanted shrubs and trees as even over spray can do severe unwanted damage.

Q: If this product doesn’t work for crabgrass, can you recommend a product of yours that does. I have both crabgrass and dandelion in my lawn. I am deathly allergic to dandelions so I have to get rid of all of them.

A: When used according to label directions, our products, such as Ortho® Killex® Lawn Weed Control - Ready-to-Spray, pose no health risks. Pets such as cats and dogs, should stay out of the treated area until it is thoroughly dry. If unsure if dry, wait 24 hours.
