The adapter works, but.....

While the adapter technically works, the connection itself is quite bulky and unless you have a deep electrical box, or one with few connections, it won't fit in the box. I had a shallow box, and multiple wires and there just wasn't any way I could force the connector into the box. I had to return the adapter and wire in the new style connector that came with the smoke detector.

Great idea, and def worth the few $$.

Makes it real easy to install new smoke alarms in circuits with older model plug-ins, no wiring needed. Just snap it into the older plug, and then into the new smoke alarm. Super easy.
