[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We are building our house and needed a place to store items until it is done. So far it is working out great and it was easy to assemble. The instructions were clear. We did run into some small misalignment with screws and holes but my husband and his friend were easily able to fix the problem. We had our crew level out an area to place it by our property line. A permit was required but that was pretty fast and easy to do. . I love the color and latching on the doors. They windows are perfect to let in sun light and my husband added extra battery powered lighting inside in case it gets dark and we need to access it. It has ample room for what we need to store. I did receive this project from the company for a discount for my honest review.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The instructions were very thorough Definitely a teambuilding activity. So don’t just try to do it by yourself. Overall, the structure is nice. Even down to the little details of the texture on the roof panels. There were a few miss line screw holes when it came to the brackets on the doors. But you were still able to screw in everything. Still trying to figure out how to put the shelves up. Overall, a pretty decent purchase.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] So I actually have this exact brown cutter shed. It is an 8 x 8 so it’s not too big to where it will take up most of your yard but it will take up a little bit of space but you make up for it in the amount of stuff you can fit inside of it. These kind of sheds are perfect for people that just don’t have the space inside their homes or they need a place outside for their gardening and lawn stuff. These types could easily become Work shacks or she sheds. There’s more than enough room in these to actually fit quite a lot of stuff. My neighbors have one that they actually put a little hot tub in and it works out great for them. I just hold my lawn stuff in it and it really does help. Take the burden out of my garage. The set up is super easy. Everything that you need comes inside of the box. I think it took me around 2 1/2 hours and I was doing it by myself. It’s sturdy and strong enough. The wind doesn’t blow it and the panels don’t seem to get weathered much and I’m in the south so the heat and the sun really do play a toll on things, but this has been standing strong.. a little extra feature that I really enjoy is the little windows on the side it helps bring in some light and I absolutely 100,000% love the latch on the front. It keeps things put away for good until I’m ready to use them. Overall, you can see that it fits really nicely on my back patio. I had stamped out some ground and put down some gravel and leveling sand. It really did work out great. It’s just a small weekend project, but it’s something that anyone with even no experience can do. This really is a lifesaver for my garage as now I can use it for my home gym

Q: What is the actual external size of the floor base? If I purchase this shed, then I plan to construct an 8'x8' wooden base out of pressure treated plywood and lumber. Will this sized base be sufficient for the provided floor?

  • A: The exact external floor measurements are W97.6”xD100.4”. The Factor 8x8’ manual includes a recommendation to construct a wooden or concrete base to be used as a base, and states the shed’s external floor measurements, but does not include a reference to the measurements of the recommended base. For practical reasons it’s preferable if the base is a little bigger than the shed’s floor (it’s convenient if the entrance to the shed, for instance, is the same level as the shed’s door as it facilitates putting objects in and taking them out).

Q: What constructed base is recommended? Can you advise what constructed base would be best suited for this product (concrete pad?/other?). Will Canadian Tire recommend an installation contractor who will also construct an appropriate base?

  • A: The weight of the shed is 325 pounds, empty of course. We do not recommend installing any shed on a roof.

  • A: It is made primarily of Polypropylene (PP). Polypropylene is durable and very resistant to many chemical solvents, bases and acids. Unlike wood It will not rot, dent or peel. It is 100% recyclable and most of our products already contain a variable level of recycled material.
