Kayak transporting made easy

Very easy to put together and allows for easy transport of 2 kayaks. Highly recommend.

Better than the old model

I had the old style with inner tube wheels which were a pain to fill up and the bearings kept falling out . This is the same frame but with solid tires should last a long time. The tie down straps that come with the cart are useless I just use a ratchet strap . The price is way too high but what isn’t these days . Better wheels than the old model , works good for what I use it for , load up the kayak with my beach stuff and walk it down to the beach for the day .

has limitations but not terrible

Works well for pavement or smooth gravel. I would not recommend for actual portage trails that aren't maintained. It will collapse on itself if you try to go over a rock the size of a softball. But again, I used it to go down my driveway and a maintained trail to the ocean and it was totally fine. 14' Mad River Kevlar canoe

Kayak Cart

This cart is that best. We live across the street from the water and have two kayaks. They are so easy to put on the cart and walk them across the street and down the lawn to the beach. A must have for transporting the kayak.

Great cart.

This is my 3rd year using the cart. 1st with a 16ft fiberglass canoe and now with a 14ft Kevlar canoe. The cart does it's job as stated . Would buy another one.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Q: I'm confused about the position of the canoe. Do I have to pull the canoe sideways or can I pull it length wise so it fits through entrances to parks and stuff?

  • A: I place the canoe lengthwise along the keel line in the stand, with the stand placed at about the middle line of the canoe. The built-in “kickstand” faces the front end.

Q: The cart I bought came with two straps with buckles and two very long ones. The instructions and photos on them are not clear to me. Do you need all four straps and are you crossing them over each other to secure the kayak?

2 Answers
  • A: My kayak cart came with only one long strap with a buckle. My Delta kayak has a keel & is not wide like a sit upon kayak or a paddle board. I find that if I secure the cart just behind the cockpit it works very well. Shorten the strap if needed. Remember to place the cart properly. If it's backwards, the cart will collapse. I know this.

Q: The instructions for using the tie down straps are confusing. The buckle strap seems to be on the wrong side for a double loop over the kayak. Any ideas? All the videos I’ve seen use non-attached straps.

  • A: The strap is actually very long, so loop the long strap over your kayak twice, come back under the kayak/frame diagonal and then loop it to the buckle. The top straps would go straight across, while the under strap would cross diagonal. It worked for me walking about 100m, through grass, sand and some gravel, but mostly flat terrain from the dirt roadway.

Q: What size kayak can this be used for, want to use it to walk to lake and back?

  • A: I purchased this last year for my 16’ fibre glass canoe. I put paddles . Jackets and anything else that is going for the day. I have had no issues with weight or durability. I do use an extra ratchet strap to hold tight to the cart as the trails are not smooth. It’s about find the right spot to balance and you are good to go.

  • A: Yes. It’s pretty much universal. I wouldn’t go hiking through the woods and expect it to stay tight but it works on short distances or relatively good environments.
