Great filter

Easy to use - the dry bag design is great for quickly scooping up water and the clips and d-rings made it easy to hang at camp. The flow remained quick for our entire trip and everyone thought the water tasted great (no plastic taste or otherwise). Lightweight for backpacking. Very satisfied with my purchase.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Was great, then failed...

We really liked this filter for the first 2 days of our outback camping trip, then the filter clogged and the water flow became extremely slow. Followed the instructions for cleaning with no improvement. We only used sediment free water from the middle of lake. returned to Canadian tire after our trip.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Absolutely terrible. 24 litre filter life

Bought to use on a trip in Algonquin Park. Camped on Grand Lake and at the bottom of rapids in Carcajou Bay. Pretty clean water in both places. We pre filtered water through a coffee filter as we poured it in the bag. Over two days, we used it four times. That's 24 litres. On day three when we went to use it, water wouldn't even drip out of it. Took the filter apart, it looked pretty clean but I wiped down the pre-screen anyway. Still nothing. Tried to blow through it and it won't even pass air. I suspect the filters use charcoal. Tannins in water will turn charcoal to rock and render it n porous in no time. So if you're anywhere with tannin (yellow staining of water) which is pretty much EVERY provincial park, don't waste time with this filter. You will end up with an expensive piece gear that does nothing in your backpack.

Good filter but needs cleaning after 2 days of use

Used this filter on a recent canoe camping trip. Pros: filtered water tasted great and no one got sick. Cons: flow rate reduced significantly after 2 days of use. Came home and cleaned the plastic sieve sleeve (that fits over the inner micro filter) with a sponge and dishwashing liquid and flow rate is back up. So on a long trip, set some clean water aside to wash the sleeve as you go along. Also, obviously the flow rate improves the higher the drop.

Yes, I recommend this product.
