You have got to BUY THIS!! It’s VERY EASY AND SIMPLE to use!

I bought this a week ago and have used it every night since then. I recommend that you freeze the bowl for a full 24 hours for the best results. The recipe that came with the kit is PERFECT for making the base ice cream mix. I do add a little more whipping cream for more richness. Then once you make the base ice cream mix then you can add either cocoa powder for chocolate ice cream or use four tablespoons of strawberry jam to make the base for strawberry ice cream then add the strawberry chunks half way through churning. Either way this attachment is highly recommended if you want ice cream with NO PRESERVATIVES and full real cream flavour. The ingredients are inexpensive. This is FUN to use.

Broken bowl

I loved this ice cream attachment and had used it for 2 years now! Sadly was making ice cream the other day and while it was churning I smelled a terrible chemical smell and the bowl was leaking all over the place. Just disappointed since I feel like I babied it and there was no reason for it to be cracked !

Broke the first time we used it, can’t get parts

My wife and I were excited to finally get the chance to use our KitchenAide to make ice cream! Unfortunately, after setting the machine up and starting it per the instructions, when we began to pour our mix into the ice cream bowl the drive shaft snapped and fell apart almost immediately. This must be some kind of manufacturing defect, as the dog clutch should have disengaged the shaft if too much torque was applied, but it didn’t even begin to skip before the shaft snapped. What makes this worse is that I can’t seem to find a way to get a replacement part for this. When I try, I keep getting re-directed to Whirlpool’s website, which doesn’t recognize the ice cream accessory’s model number. I’m disappointed in the quality of this product, and the experience overall.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Love My New "Easy-to-Use" Gelato/Ice Cream Maker!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I just used this yesterday for the first time. It was a little difficult to get the dasher and bowl in place for me, but the process of mixing and the end product were great! Next time I will add slightly more sweetness since it states in the manual that if frozen, the sweetness will be subdued. It wasn't exactly inexpensive, but it should pay itself off in a few batches after buying gelato for my grandkids and paying outrageous prices (even though I can't make all the fun different flavors they have). The only real complaint would be how heavy it is, but I understand why.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Just purchased and haven't used it yet. Looking up recipes and can't wait to try it this summer. Will update on function later. I was going to purchase something separate but thought to keep putting my stand mixer to good use!
