honestly feel completely ripped off with this purchase. The battery barely lasts 6–8 hours, and I paid extra for the custom color, which has already started peeling off after only two days and is now showing white underneath. This is extremely disappointing. If I had known that the customized color would start coming off this quickly, I absolutely would not have paid extra for it. The whole point of paying for customization is to get something that actually lasts, not something that starts looking damaged after two days. As for the battery, I’m not even sure if this is normal battery life or if my speaker is defective. I don’t play it at an especially high volume, so I really don’t understand how the battery can drain this quickly. For what I paid, I genuinely expected much better quality. At this point, I feel very disappointed and honestly misled by the purchase.

We appreciate your feedback on our JBL Flip 7. It has a published playtime of up to 16 hours which is the maximum battery time you will get when listening at background levels. As you turn up the volume, the playtime will be reduced, much like a phone battery when you brighten the screen. The same goes for source material. Music with more bass will also reduce playtime. It is possible that the battery is working correctly, but depletes more quickly when the volume is very loud and/or the bass has been boosted. Please charge the battery to 100% and then listen to music without any bass boosted, and at a very low volume. If the battery lasts close to the published up-to playtime, the battery is working fine. With regards to the customized color, please contact our customer support for further assistance. https://support.jbl.com/

Q: Will this connect to my Extreme 3 with PartyBoost? The features list on this page says "JBL PartyBoost - Yes" but I've read online that Auracast speakers are (annoyingly) not backwards compatible. Which is it?

  • A: Thanks for your question. Our JBL Flip 7 can not connect to speakers outside our JBL speakers using Auracast. It can only connect to other JBL speakers that support Auracast. Also, the AI Sound Boost is an automatic feature and can not be turned off manually, and our Flip 7 does not have a built-in microphone, so there is no mic feature to enable or disable

  • A: Thank you for your question. Our JBL Flip 7 does not have a noise cancellation feature. This feature typically found in our headphones and earbuds. Additionally, if you receive an incoming call while playing music through the speaker, the music will automatically pause, and the call audio will play only through your phone, as the speaker does not support speakerphone feature.

Universal Compatibility: It utilizes a USB Type-C connection, which is common and compatible with chargers you likely already have for other devices. This makes charging more convenient, as you won’t need a specific cable. 2. Reducing Electronic Waste: By not including a cable, JBL helps minimize unnecessary accessories. Many users already have extra cables, so this approach helps prevent waste from unused items that could end up being discarded.
