    0/10 not worth it unfortunately

Terrible. Charge 3 is 200 times better. Had this speaker on the charger for 2 hours still shuts off 15 seconds after blasting music. Literally one of the worst speakers I’ve ever had in my life. I stood behind JBL until I had my charge 3 explode while I wasn’t home. Had the fire department come. I have animals at my home I was terrified but I really did like that speaker way more then the 4; I’m scared what this speaker is going to do when I’m not home now. Not only that battery life is absolutely terrible. 0/10 do not recommend JBL anymore. Just got worse over time.

Thank you for bringing this to our attention. This is not what we wanted you to experience with our JBL Charge 4. The published up-to playtime is the maximum battery time you will get when listening at background levels. As you turn up the volume, the playtime will be reduced, much like a phone battery when you brighten the screen. The same goes for source material. Music with more bass will also reduce playtime. It is possible that the battery is working correctly, but depletes more quickly when the volume is very loud and/or the bass has been boosted. Battery playtime also decreases as the battery ages and all batteries, over time, will slowly wear down. Charge the battery to 100% and then listen to music without any bass boosted, and at a very low volume. If the battery lasts close to the published up-to playtime, the battery is working fine. However, if you get less than 90% of the published spec, please contact our customer support so we can assist you further. https://support.jbl.com/us/en/#contact

    Terrible Speaker

I don’t know how this product has so many five stars. It has to be made up. I’ve had two of these charge 4 speakers now, and even though they sound great, they stop being able to be charged fully in less than 3 years. Like what!?!?! Do they not even care about landfills for one, and the other thing, why would you make and sell such a terrible speaker with such short battery life? This gets all the thumbs down and I wish I could give it zero stars. They are making these speakers like this on purpose. I’m not buying anymore and will tell other to stay away until this company makes better speakers.

Okay so I have had this speaker for three years and it has been okay. It charges like an iPhone so if it’s dead you have to wait for a good while while it charges before using it. But my speaker just had its first experience in the rain and now looks like a wrinkly mess. ( mess is the PG version).

    AMAZING SPEAKER

I have a JBL charge 4, I have had it for a couple of years, and I lost my house in a fire last year on December 3 days after Christmas. as we were doing the clean-up we found the speaker and it still charges and plays music. It is a melted and discolored now. But it's amazing of the quality of the speaker and that it still works and charges.

Q: Is there any way to stop that sound it makes when we switch it on? Think in a customer's point of view, you are in the middle of the class and you pass it to your friend then he accidently pressed the power button?? Then boom that loud sound...

Q: Can you hear the sound from the charge 4 to the right because of the single driver ?

Q: Is this an upgrade from the Flip 4? I’ve been thinking about upgrading. Should I get the Charge 4? (If they ever release the Xtreme 2 in Red, Void this question, I buy instantly :)

Q: Can I use the AC charger from my original, 1st generation Charge speaker to charge my soon-to-arrive Charge 4? It's labelled as 100-240V input, with 5V/2.3A output. Thank you.
