Really messy and long time to set

This is the messiest, most useless glue I have ever used. Sloppy, runny, and almost impossible to control. I tried putting the mix only on the edge of the plastic pieces, but it spread everywhere like water and turned the repair into a disaster. The syringe is garbage. It did not mix the two parts properly, and one side kept pushing out more than the other. I had to take the nozzle off, push both sides manually, and plug one side just to control the flow. Not a minor inconvenience. Bad design. I should have trusted myself and bought the epoxy that comes out separately. I already had a bad feeling about this when I bought it, and I was right. It took about 15 minutes to set, then took forever to cure, and after all that, it was still soft. Completely pointless. I do not need a soft weld that lets the plastic pieces keep moving. I need it to cure hard, rigid, and solid so the pieces become one fixed unit. This did not act like a weld. It acted like overpriced, runny junk in a syringe. I will not bother with JB Weld again after this. I do not trust it. Wasted my time, made a mess, failed at the one thing it was supposed to do, and left me with more repair work than I started with.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Q: Will this work for sealing a crack on a plastic radiator?

  • A: without going more specifics I would say probably it's not your best way to fix it though. your best way to fix it would be to plastic weld it. radiator tanks made of plastic are made of polyamide, which doesn't reliably hold onto adhesives. You can plastic weld with any old soldering iron. But if you do not want to do that, I would suggest rather than getting JB Plastic Weld, you would find a high temperature epoxy patch. JB Weld does make radiator weld and water weld. Those would be better options.

Q: It says that this product sets hard, but is it flexible when it's cured? Id like to use it on a Polyurethane bumper (late 70's yellow bumper.)

  • A: I don't see why not. It's hard/waterproof ( if applied evenly) but it is an epoxy not liquid metal. Not sure of UV resistance doesn't seem to say? Used mine to fix a plastic Rv tank under a trailer.

  • A: Apply at room temp. Once cured it has a durable bond and sealant.
