It sucks… but not quite enough.

My Roomba and I have a complicated relationship. On the one hand, it sucks. On the other hand… I really wish it sucked more. I had to pre-vacuum, which sort of defeats the point (like washing dishes before putting them in the dishwasher). Once the heavy lifting was out of the way, though, it’s been great at keeping things decently clean. Edge cleaning? Mediocre. It’s like it’s afraid of commitment when it gets near the baseboards. And the poor edge brush—after two weeks it looks like it’s aged a decade. I’m not sure how long that little guy’s going to last. Now, to its credit, pet hair doesn’t stand a chance. I have 3 long-haired pets, and the Roomba doesn’t choke on fur. It untangles from the brushes without drama (a miracle in my house). And the automation is wonderful—I love that it just goes about its business while I ignore it. To its credit, the Roomba is surprisingly graceful at dodging obstacles. It sidesteps pet toys like a seasoned agility dog and gives my pets plenty of personal space, never once trying to run them over. Honestly, it navigates the living room minefield better than I do. Biggest gripe: I can’t change the schedule while it’s in use. It’s like talking to someone who refuses to multitask. “Sorry, can’t hear you over the vacuuming, check back later.” Overall? It makes life easier, even if I still occasionally side-eye it for not going the extra mile… or inch… along the edges. It’s not perfect, but it does make my life easier. Think of it less as a vacuum replacement, more as a maintenance sidekick that’s allergic to edges.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Incredible! The smart camera LiDAR technology makes this roomba so efficient! I don’t have to deep clean as often and generally helps maintain my home environment clean with minimal noise and maintenance. And it charged it self! It’s great

This was an upgrade from an earlier model. We like the newer features. Mapping the rooms, only cleaning where we want, self emptying. The reason for the 4 stars is the price point.
