Poor welding and light gauge aluminum in handle

The 10" product is fair. I like ION technology but the durability of the aluminum handle bar is not of good , manufacturing quality. The handle broke at the mounting welds inside the unit when drilling. It was not abused or dropped; but I feel the 10" auger is a bit too much torque for this design and welding process. Maybe a newer 8" model has reinforced welding at the mount. Does anyone one have any ideas or comments?
This unit is past warranty but I would like to know where I can get a replacement handle?

Handle Issue

I agree with the above statement. My handle broke as well. I baby my unit in a custom wood box with hold downs. Never been dropped. Handle broke while drilling through ice. It is a flaw, Ion did not replace, just told me I must have abused the unit. It’s too bad, otherwise it’s a great auger and battery system. I was able to order a replacement handle through their repair depot in Saskatoon. I didn’t buy mine on sale. Paid full price. It’s unfortunate the manufacture would not stand behind the product.

Handle is flawed should b a recall

The handle will constantly break if you use it every weekend for 2 or more people I’ve broken 2augere.. the second time I was even more careful but didn’t matter it’s a flaw in handle design
