excellent pump. worked perfectly for the 16ft boat. 800gph was way better than the old 600ghp. spend the extra couple bucks its well worth it!!

Pump used in solar fountain application

I have used this pump for a use that it is probably not designed for... I have connected it to two 50W solar panels to create two mini water fountains inside my small back yard water feature. As such I have had it pushing water for hours and hours during the day, day after day over this summer. This fountain application has given me hours of summer enjoyment this season, and continues to do so. Based on this high use-rate, I have to rate this pump highly.

Pump works great! I should have check the fuse first! That's right a $0.99 fuse was why the old pump didn't work. But now I have a spare. Who knew. Lol

A: We can recommend using the pumps to a head of 36" maximum. However, even this will reduce the output of the pump by around half with corrugated hose.

Q: Will this unit pump out a 50 gallon drum submersed with 3ft of lift + 7ft of horizontal?

A: Yes. The bilge pump will work with a 3 ft lift and 7 ft horizontal. Some points that need to be addressed are: -You will need to take in consideration that the pump will lose performance depending on lift height, horizontal drag and hose resistance. (example: 1 foot of lift equals close to 10% loss in performance). -Also the pump needs to be used as intended. In other words, will the pump be used to remove water and be stored in dry conditions or will it be submersed under water for long periods? The customer may want to consider a submersible pond pump for the application instead. Please note, we recommend our Shoreline Marine items should only be used as intended.
