Safety Hazard

I have purchased two of these switches and both have failed. The first did not work out of the package and second lasted a month. This product is a safety hazard and should be taken off the shelf.

NOT Reliable!

Unfortunately this is a terrible product. I purchased 5 of these. 1 was defective right out of the package and 3 failed within a week of installation. I do not trust them but Canadian Tire was great about refunding my money.

Q: Can this switch be used with an A/C utility pump to act as an emergency sump pump?

A: No. A/C 110V requires CSA approval and the 12DC design of this switch does not have the electrical insulation to protect you or handle the current.

Q: can i use this with my existing pump? can this be used with my existing pump? how dose it activate it's self? do you need to keep the key in the ignition for it to draw power from the battery? how do you wire it up?

A: Yes it can be used with almost all bilge pumps, it is a float switch which turns the power to your pump on when the water level rises, then shuts it off when water level goes back down. If your pump is wired only to come on with the key on now, then you will need the key on after installation too. To wire it up, all you have to do is take the wires running to your pump and wire them into the switch, then from the switch to the pump, done. Basically you put the switch in between the power source and pump.
