Great at cooling but not very durable

Great for keeping items cold, holds ice for days. I returned this cooler due to the fact the hinge ripped off my first time using it. The hinge is very weak.

Not bad little cooler

It’s not a bad cooler for the most part. I would have liked igloo to have given it a rubber seal around the lid to help with keeping the ice melt. But again I was camping in 32 degrees C so it had its work cut out for it. I did read the bad hinge reviews on the back of the cooler, but as someone who works in an engineering and maintenance department. We have already looked into many ideas on how to protect that from happening.

Does a very poor job of keeping ice frozen. I made 2 large containers of block ice and bought 2 bags of ice. All this cooler needed to do was keep that ice frozen so that half way through our camping trip we could replenish the ice in our food cooler. Day 3 was the first time this cooler was opened, the bags of ice were melted. Day 4 the block ice container was full of water with a tiny chunk of ice floating in each. Igloo cooler was in the shade the whole time, temp low 20c and 10 to 13c overnight. Very non-taxing environment. This cooler failed the "keeps ice for 3 to 5 days" claim. It's a bit wide to carry alone and at some point the rubber latches will get sun damaged and fail . Disappointed, esp when it cost $200
No, I do not recommend this product.

A: The majority of Igloo Coolers are filled with THERMECOOL FOAM, an eco-friendly insulating foam. Most 2 and 3 day coolers have no foam in the lids, while 5 & 7 day coolers have foamed lids as well.

A: The inside (front to back) measures approx 12" and the inside (width) measures approx 20"

A: No, it does not have wheels. The handles make it relatively easy to carry, but it's pretty heavy when full of ice and food.

A: About 24 hrs for bag of ice cubes ( party ice). Always best to get or make your own ice blocks before a longer trip.

Q: I am trying to find a cooler for a paddling trip and want one that is waterproof. Do the latches keep this relatively air tight? Or do they just to keep the lid closed?

A: There isn’t a rubber gasket on the lid so I don’t know if it would be completely water proof. But it is well made and a fairly solid cooler for the price.
