Dependable Brand

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought a Husqvarna with the understanding I was getting a dependable machine. I have only just used the snow blower once since I got it and I really am amazed at how well it performs. The machine started up right away, right out of the box. I could not believe the power behind this machine and how well it throws snow. It makes the Craftsman one I replaced seem like a single stage thrower. I can't speak to it durability, as I have only had it running and throwing snow once. But I am already convinced that this will outperform any snowblower I have owned in the past.
Yes, I recommend this product.

Bought this 3 years ago and its has taken out 4 auger belts the first time it broke the pulley belt guide. This last time it must have bent the idler arm because it instantly burns the belt on the lower guide or brake. Also the # on the arm is 5808511 but dosent come up in the parts brakedown. The model is 97052860200 also not a searchable model. I also found there was no bolt holding the auger pulley. Probably what started this whole issue. I had to pull my old 1984 MTD down to finish this year. Such a pile of expensive garbage.
No, I do not recommend this product.

Very reliable

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've had my st224 for 6-8 yrs now and I tried to start it a few weeks ago. It would not start so I drained a little gas out of the carb, replaced the spark plug with an E3 plug. Started right up on the first pull which is actually better than when it was new. Over the yrs I've had craftsman and troy built and this a by far a superior machine

STARTS ON 1 PULL, IT ALSO HAS ELECTRIC START AND WITH 3 PRIMING PUMPS, YOU HIT THE BUTTON AND IT STARTS IMMEDIATELY. THE TURNING LEVERS ON THE HANDLEBARS WORK REALLY WELL AND MAKES MANUVERING MUCH EASIER. AFTER A COUPLE SNOW STORMS, THE BLOWER HAS PERFORMED WELL AND APPEARS TO BE VERY WELL MADE.
Yes, I recommend this product.

A: I bought one on Sunday and it has little triggers on the handle bar. If you squeeze one the drive stops on that side and helps turn the blower round a corner.

Q: Does a power cord come with the purchase or is a special power cord required? I have recently Purchased the Husqvarna ST224 and it did not come with a power cord. Was it supposed to come with a cord or can a standard extension cord be used?

A: Mine did not come with a power cord either but just about any extension cord (that will fit the plug - 3 prong) will do the job.

Q: Will you carry the shear pins/bolts for the ST224 Replacement shear pins: SKU 60-3749 is listed in the Features but they don't have the correct part number. For the ST224 the replacement shear bolts have the Husqvarna part number of 585 51 18-01. Will Canadian Tire carry these?

A: There are heated grips but due to handle design they are not a slip on kind but only on the lower portion of the handle.

Q: Warranty What kind of warranty does this machine come with? CT site states 3 years repair redeemable at CT but the flyer states 5 years GS. It use to state 5 years Guarantee Start in the description but have since been removed.

A: Its big, I picked up the box with my utility trailer and they loaded it on with a fork lift. Its a few inches wider than the unit but not quite as long or tall but close.
