I have had this model for a few years now and it has never failed me yet. I always turn the fuel supply off and let it idle to clear the carb of fuel before shutting down. It always starts on first pull. I also use fuel conditioner and store it in the shed.The machine is a necessary addition to my maintenance tools as we live in a snow belt with heavy snow at times off the great lakes and it is capable of removing deep and heavy snow.I am very thankful for my Husqvarna ST 224 snowblower and highly recommend it to everyone.

The best brand on the market !

i've been using Husq for over 20+ years. I waited 10 years to write this review just to make sure it was going to last. Well, I wouldn't be writing this if it didn't. This is the best snow thrower brand on the market and has been for decades (I've tried others and they don't cut it). I would say: change the oil and spark plug every year and you will be good to go for a long time

Only lasted one year

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've only had the snowblower for a year and the friction belt is already broken. I just use it like a regular snowblower. I live in a subdivision. It's not like I get a ton of snow. It's Michigan but it's not ridiculous and the friction belt is already broken on it. It's a bit ridiculous that it only lasted one year. I thought Husqvarna was better than this

Happy with this machine

I bought this blower approximately 18 months ago and haven't had any issues with it. Mind you I messed up once, forgot to slow the motor down before turning it off and the belt came off. Got it back on myself. I also do my neighbours driveway. Large gas tank I am really impress with and snow throwing has good distance. Bought a ST224 (6 months ago) also for doing two elderly ladies drive in a different part of town. That unit runs just as good.
Yes, I recommend this product.

A: I bought one on Sunday and it has little triggers on the handle bar. If you squeeze one the drive stops on that side and helps turn the blower round a corner.

Q: Does a power cord come with the purchase or is a special power cord required? I have recently Purchased the Husqvarna ST224 and it did not come with a power cord. Was it supposed to come with a cord or can a standard extension cord be used?

A: Mine did not come with a power cord either but just about any extension cord (that will fit the plug - 3 prong) will do the job.

Q: Will you carry the shear pins/bolts for the ST224 Replacement shear pins: SKU 60-3749 is listed in the Features but they don't have the correct part number. For the ST224 the replacement shear bolts have the Husqvarna part number of 585 51 18-01. Will Canadian Tire carry these?

A: There are heated grips but due to handle design they are not a slip on kind but only on the lower portion of the handle.

Q: Warranty What kind of warranty does this machine come with? CT site states 3 years repair redeemable at CT but the flyer states 5 years GS. It use to state 5 years Guarantee Start in the description but have since been removed.

A: Its big, I picked up the box with my utility trailer and they loaded it on with a fork lift. Its a few inches wider than the unit but not quite as long or tall but close.
