I've owned this brand for over 50 years. This model sadly died about a year into it's life. Starts, then dies. I won't be purchasing another Hoover product. Now I have to package it up, find the receipt and haul back to a Canadian Tire store.
No, I do not recommend this product.

Hi NH62! Oh no, your Quiet Performance Bagged Canister should last longer than this. We want to help. Each unit is equipped with a thermal protector that will turn the unit off when it overheats and is usually caused from a blockage of airflow to the motor. The vacuum will reset once it’s been unplugged from the wall for at least 60 minutes. Here’s a few suggestions to get your unit up and running: 1. Disconnect the hose from the opening of the unit and wand to check for clogs. 2. Change the bag. 3. Check the powered nozzle for any blockages. 4. Pull the power cord to the yellow line each time before using. Once cleared the will run normally and no longer shut off during use. On a acheté cet aspirateur il y au printemps et on a pas été déçu. On habitait alors dans un appartement miteux et dès les premiers passages de la balayeuse, on a vu une différence: on se mouchait beaucoup moins souvent. On a deux chats, oui, mais il y avait aussi de vieux tapis, etc. Ca tirait tellement les TRÈS vieux tapis que ceux-ci ont décollé, même un plancher en vieux vynil a décollé mais les planchers récents sont restés très beau. Il vient avec une panoplie d'outils super pratique. Elle a un énorme pouvoir de succion et elle ne perd rien tant qu'on entretient bien les filtres et le sac. Je le recommande à n'importe qui, surtout aux gens allergiques ou incommodé par la poussière qui loge dans les tapis.

Q: Does the hepa filter have to be cleaned regularly? Do I have to remove and clean the filter frequently? How often if I do?

A: Hi, HEPA filter cleaning depends on use. HEPA filter rarely gets dirty. Your main concern should be keeping the primary filter clean. The HEPA filter is non-rinseable but you have to brush any dirt or debris off it. Also tap it lightly on the side of a garbage can to knock out dirt. Hope this helps! -Giselle Hoover Customer Care
