Autrement, je trouve the thermostat attrayant. Je recommande fortement ce thermostat.

Inaccurate temperature reading, died a couple years later

As others have reported, this themostat reads cooler than actual. Honeywell sent me a replacement which was also defective. Ajusted temperature 2C cooler to compensate, but unit acted up recently after two years. Heat was off and display kept cycling like the power was being cut off every 10 seconds. No way to reset. This was being used on a single convector heater rated at half the capacity of this thermostat, so no overheating involved. Honeywell tech support had no solution and would not send a replacement since unit was now out of warranty. Would not recommend this unit as it is inherently defective and eventually disposable.

    Works okay...could be better

I purchased these about a week ago. I am not convinced the temperature sensor is accurate at lower temperatures but seems to work fine when the setpoint is higher. In a room where the thermostat read 18 degrees, it was much colder. I used a FLIR camera to measure the temperature on and around the thermostat. When the heat isn't on, there is localized heating of the unit. The thermostat gets warm during operation. I believe this is contributing to the inaccuracies being reported. The room does get up to temperature. It isn't a complete waste of money, however. Once the thermostat is homed in and you know what temperature you want, I use the thermostats to shut the heat off automatically so I don't forget. It will likely save me much more money than I paid for them. They are quiet in their operation and they do seem to regulate the power to the heater so they don't use much more energy than they need to maintain the heat in the room.

Hi David, thank you for sharing your feedback with us after working with our thermostat. It can be normal for the thermostat housing to feel warm. You will want to ensure that the heater capacity does not exceed the thermostat’s maximum load. If you ever need help with your thermostat or wish to discuss this further, feel free to contact our customer support at 1-800-468-1502 and we'll be happy to help! Thank you again for your feedback; we're always looking for ways to improve and we love to use our customer's suggestions. We hope you enjoy the rest of your day! Honeywell

don't last much longer than a year

have installed several and keep having to replace them for various reasons related to battery life and internal electronics. latest case, displays fine and indicates full power going to base board, but no heat from baseboard. When i bypasses thermostat BB heats up fine. so once again I have to replace the thermostat, which is probably no more than a year and a couple of months old. looking for alternatives of course - not much to choose from.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Excellent produit, fiable. Serait un produit parfait s'il y avait un bouton pour le changement d'heure à l'automne et au printemps comme mes timer possèdes sinon, aucun reproche à faire à ce produit,

Q: What is the minimum rated load?

    3 Answers
    • A: It seems Bartlett has posted incorrect information. The online manual indicates the following: Minimum load: 1.25 A (resistive only) 150 W @ 120 VAC 300 W @ 240 VAC

Q: Does this T'stat have a hold feature? Need to know if this thermostat has a 'hold' feature: can I manually override the auto temp for an indeterminate amount of time and then simply manually go back to auto temp when I'm ready?

    • A: Yes, and it is called Manual Mode (Permanent Override of Schedule).

Q: Does this Honeywell Model # YRLV4300 work with only 240 V Baseboard heaters or also with 120 V baseboard heaters? Are all baseboard heaters 240 V? My place was built in the 1970s. Were 240 V baseboard heaters used or popular in the 1970s? How would I know if my baseboard heater is 120 V or 240 V?

    2 Answers
    • A: It will work with 120 V OR 240 V. Most likely all fixed-installed baseboards are 240 V and mobile ones 120 V. Go down to floor level and look for the label inside the baseboard heater: it will specify power (wattage) and voltage.

Q: Will this work for a gas fireplace - 2 wire?

    2 Answers
    • A: The YRLV4300 is rated for resistive loads only, at 240Vac 50/60hz. It has a minimum load rating of 500W and a maximum load rating of 3000W. Most fireplaces are 750mV. The YRLV4300 is not compatible with that load. For information on thermostats that have the features you are looking for and are compatible with typical 750mV fireplace applications, please visit Honeywell at: http://yourhome.honeywell.com/Home/default.htm

Q: How do you change the readings from Farenheit to Celsuis UPM Thermostat

    2 Answers
    • A: Information on changing the display of the RLV4300 from Fahrenheit to Celsius can be found in the advanced settings section of the user guide. Here are those steps in case you do not have a copy of the manual: - Pull the cover down. - Briefly insert a pointed object (e.g., paperclip) through the advanced setting opening, which is a small hole to the right of the Mode and Min buttons. - The first parameter, which is to change the temperature display scale will appear. - To modify that option, press the Up or Down Button. - To exit press the Ret button or, do not press any button for for a minute and the display will return to normal.

Q: How to keep the temperature consistent for another room The thermostat will be installed at hallway but my kid plays at family room mostly. Very often family room gets much warmer than other place. How should I install the thermostat to keep temperature of family room consistent ? Thanks.

    2 Answers
    • A: The thermostat can only monitor and control heating based on the ambient temperature where it is located. It has no way of knowing the temperature of a room it is not in. One solution could be is to have the thermostat relocated to the family room. This would likely require the services of a qualified electrician.

Q: How to install with 4 wires? The instructions aren't very clear (or not to me anyway!). My old thermostat has 4 wires going to it, 2 red and 2 black....So how do I connect this new thermostat with only 2 black wires?

    2 Answers
    • A: Use a proper connector and tie the 2 red wires together. The old 4 wire one was a DPST model that was capable of turning off power to both sides of the line. This one will have one side hot at all times and switch the other for control. No harm done there, The only difference is that even with the thermostat turned down to the lowest there will still be power to shock you at the heater so if servicing the heater be sure to remove the power by removing fuses or turning off circuit breaker.
