Very reliable drill, recharges quickly. It's not the most powerful 18V I've seen, but the bearings are still straight after years of beating.

The Hitachi drill works just as well as any other drill, however there's one small complaint. If you're using really small drillbits (smaller than 3/16) that don't have the slits or tri-cuts at the shaft - they tend to slip out of this drill on high speeds. But otherwise, it's a really good piece of equipment to have when needed.

For the fist 6 months, this drill rocks. After that your battery only stays charged for about ten minutes. The flashlight will run on a fully charged battery for about an hour after you have used it for the six month period. Not to heavy and can take a beating.
No, I do not recommend this product.

Q: This product comes with a 5 year warranty, is that honoured in store? I've had this combo kit from ~ 2 years and have problems with it overheating. I still have the original receipt, can I bring it back to the store for return or replacement?

A: Canadian Tire does not warrant against defects, it is the Manufacturer. C-T will allow you to get a refund or exchange depending on the store's Manager within the specified time on the receipt. That warranty information can be found here : http://www.hitachipowertools.ca/en/CustService/Warranty I would assume that you'd of needed to register your product.

A: It uses Lithium-Ion batteries, and the battery model number that is compatible is BSL1815 18V

Q: WHERE CAN I GET THE REPLACEMENT BULB FOR THE FLASHLIGHT THAT COMES WITH THIS CASE? ONLY FLASHLIGHT BULBS WERE FOR MAGLIGHT. WHAT WOULD BE THE PRODUCT NUMBER FOR THE BULB.

A: The part number for the bulb is 318-767. They are normally sold as a twin pack through Hitachi authorized service centers.
